All the Autonomous Communities register at least one death for the first time since the end of the alarm state

The Ministry of Health also reveals 8,964 new confirmed cases, a figure that has remained in recent days

Although it is clear that the contagion curve is still much faster in proportion to the rate of the deceased, the truth is that the latter is already beginning to worry. The report updated and released today by the Ministry of Health has registered that, for the first time since the end of the state of alarm and in the situation of new normality, all communities, without exception, have reported at least one death from coronavirus. Even the autonomous cities of Ceuta and Melilla have added one death each in their respective reports.

Gone are the counts provided at the beginning of July, in which, in the death column, a zero accompanied practically most of the regions. For example, on July 1, only Andalusia, Castilla La Mancha, Castilla y León, Catalonia, Madrid, the Basque Country, and La Rioja reported someone who had died from the virus. Seven out of nineteen, a total of 19 deaths in one week, Madrid being the region that registered the most (seven).

The multiplication of the outbreaks during the summer caused the number of deaths to increase gradually. Today, Health has added a total of 261 people who have lost their lives to Covid-19 during the last seven days, a figure that is more than double than two weeks ago. Specifically, between July 18 and 25, the figures showed a total of 116 deaths. Then, Ceuta and Melilla did not have any.

Of the 261 deaths this week, 87 correspond to Madrid , a region followed by Andalusia , which reports 39; Castilla and León , 20; Valencia , 19; Galicia , 18; and Aragón y Canarias , 13. On the other hand, the Balearic Islands registered nine; La Rioja , seven; Castilla La Mancha, Catalonia and Extremadura , six; Navarra , five; Asturias, Cantabria and Murcia , three; the Basque Country , two; and Ceuta and Melilla , one.

Health has also added 78 new deaths to the total on Tuesday (29,594, although this figure does not include those who died in residences or those who presented symptoms compatible with Covid-19, but who could not have the PCR to confirm it).

People infected in this already second wave of the pandemic grow significantly again in the last day. With the educational and health fields alert to the incessant increase in infections, the report updated and released this Tuesday by the Ministry of Health reveals 8,964 new confirmed cases, a figure similar to those published in the latest counts. This Monday, Health registered 26,560 positives since Friday (the data is not updated on weekends), so the average was also about 8,850 infections per day.

This data includes both PCRs carried out in previous days, but whose positive result has been made known on the last day, as well as those carried out in the last 24 hours. In this sense, 3,168 infected people have undergone these tests since yesterday. Most of them in Madrid (984), a community very far from the rest: the Basque Country has notified 370 and Andalusia, 340.

Revenues, meanwhile, have once again touched 2,000 in the last week. Specifically, the official count has registered 1,953 (on Monday they were 1,829) and 955 in the last 24 hours. Andalusia is the community that has been registering the most hospitalizations since yesterday, above Madrid, with 386 in the last seven days. It is followed by the Madrid region, which totals 363; Valencia, 190; and Canarias, 163.

Also, 166 patients have been transferred to the intensive care unit in the same period of time and the official count has counted 49 more since yesterday. Thus, the total number of patients who have required an ICU since the beginning of the pandemic is already 12,615. Health has also reported that in the last few hours 944 patients have been discharged.

Regarding the healthcare capacity of hospitals to care for COVID patients, the official report notifies that, on average, the percentage of beds occupied by a coronavirus in Spain has risen to 8%. The communities with the most occupation are Madrid (18%), the Balearic Islands (13%), and Aragón (12%).

At the European level, our country continues to be the second in Europe with the most infections since the beginning of the pandemic (534,513), only behind Russia (1,030,690). Likewise, the United Kingdom and France follow, with 350,100 and 328,980, respectively. The country with the highest number of deaths continues to be the United Kingdom (41,554), followed by Italy (35,553) and France (30,726).

In addition, Spain continues to lead in cumulative incidence (AI) in the last 14 days among the European countries that have registered the most infections. Our country reports 236 positives per 100,000 inhabitants. France follows, with 120.6 infected. Both Spain and the French country are registering an AI index quite far from the rest of the European countries that have registered the most infections. Thus, in the third position would be Ukraine, with 73.5 positives.
