New Zealand soccer star scores own goals hat-trick

New Zealand soccer star Meikayla Moore has scored a hat-trick of own goals in an international match against the United States. In half an hour, Moore worked the ball past her own goalkeeper three times.

She even made a so-called 'perfect' hat-trick: with the right, with her head and with the left.

New Zealand national coach Jitka Klimkova decided to replace the unfortunate Moore after 40 minutes of play in Carson (California). "Everyone who plays football plays good and bad games, no matter what level you are at. And Moore had a tough day now," said Klimkova. "She is very disappointed and sad, but we support her."

Bad luck after crosses
The 25-year-old defender of the English club Liverpool worked a cross from the left with her right leg into her own goal after 4 minutes. A minute later, a ball passed from the right through her head also flew in. After 35 minutes of play, Moore wanted to clear a cross, but she hit the ball all wrong and passed her teammate under the bar again.
