The Dallas Mavericks basketball players have given the Los Angeles Lakers its third consecutive loss in the NBA. It was in LA, thanks in part to 25 points from Luka Doncic, 109-104 for the Mavericks. LeBron James was the top scorer of the evening on the side of the Lakers with 26 points.
With 7 minutes left to play, the visitors faced a 100-94 deficit, but they came up with eleven consecutive runs. The Lakers had just cleared a 21-point deficit in 12 minutes.
The Lakers, who lost for the sixth time in seven games, were applauded afterward for their mental toughness. Two days ago they were whistled after the defeat against New Orleans Pelicans (123-95).
The Mavericks are fifth in the Western Conference, the Lakers are sliding further and further and are now ninth. The Lakers won the NBA championship in 2020. Last year the title went to the Milwaukee Bucks.
