The cross-border behavior of director Marc Overmars, who stepped down on Sunday, has been known to Ajax for much longer, NRC and AD write on Monday. Both media rely on conversations with (former) employees, who say that the issue was never discussed at the Amsterdam club.
Following a tip, NRC has been investigating the behavior of Overmars since December and spoke with eleven (former) employees, whereby WhatsApp messages were viewed and additional and supporting sources were consulted.
According to the anonymous staff members, the director at Ajax had been known for years for his dealings with women and was called “horny cousin”. Three women say that he forced himself on them.
